Novel-in-Verse Wins Honorable Mention in Writer's Digest Competition
My upper-middle-grade novel-in-verse, Stuff As Dreams Are Made On, was awarded an Honorable Mention in the 94th Annual Writer's Digest Writing Competition! Out of nearly 3,800 submissions in the 2025 competition, Stuff As Dreams Are Made On was one of 35 Honorable Mentions in the Children's/Young Adult Fiction category, after the ten finalists. (You can read the whole list on the Writer's Digest website.)
Stuff As Dreams Are Made On was inspired by some experiences I had as a child and teen, which I also processed through writing poetry, just as my main character, Addy, does. Read the full synopsis here.
Graphic Novel Makes Gallery Showcase
My early reader graphic novel, Brixie & The Pigs: The Four Little Guinea Pigs, made the gallery showcase in the 2023 Kids Comics Unite! PitchFest. (You can view my pitch and entry page here.
I would love to see more books centering groups of neurodiverse characters (and more books featuring guinea pigs!), so I set out to write one.

Picture Book Illustrations Win Honorable Mention
My picture book, The Wild Within, was awarded an Honorable Mention for its illustrations in the 2022 Picture Book Party Showcase. This story is a lyrical look at being highly sensitive, set against the backdrop of the California wilderness.
